That I did I handmade all the connecting links and built this up. I ordered the scales in bulk but I assembled and designed this model :)

It did take quite awhile. 7 hours per hand to assemble. About 2 hours prep work. But it's worth the time input :)

I order online since I don't know anyone here who does em. Google "Scalemail supplies" and you should find suppliers. I only say that cuz theringlord is Canadian and may be a bit more expensive (alot more expensive) to ship the links.

Oooooh thanks a lot! :D Really!
I never thought about searching for those keywords.
I'll have to ship anyways :( I live in Brazil and I can't find anything here that sells scales... so I think i'll have to buy from some other country :~~~

In that case, Canada and the US are your best choices, but if you can find anything in Mexico you may get a Better deal :)

But theringlord.com is Canadian based, accepts US dollars or Canadian currency, and their shipping (at least for me) was about 20 bucks

This makes me want to take up metalworking. Just so I can craft myself a gleaming suit of scale armor.

.... Wait.... No.... Not full suit of scale armor.... ..... There would be plate.... And scale.... Meshed.... Together.... Making an armor with no holes or weak points.... Yes. This is what I want to do.

I'd love to do plated Spaulders with chain link sleeves and such. It'd be awesome to make a full suit

Heh, That's what got me into the craft. I had champagne taste with a beer budget hehe.
But I'm not going anywhere, if this is something that intrigues you I can always custom make smaller ones that go to the wrist if money is the issue.

Holy birthdays! I can definitely understand that. If anything just toss me a note when you're ready and we can work on a custom piece that fits your budget ^_^ I just love the crafting. Is it also your birthday this month in the mix of all those? Because I can knock 10% off the item you decide upon if it is!

I dont have the equipment I need to make these in bulk, so I ordered. You can google "scalemail supplies" and the best provider should pop up. I've used various companies, (unfortunately no wholesalers) to purchase my scales. But I handmake every chainmaille link that connects the scales.

I'm in the process of getting a tax ID to sell online here (Pennsylvania requires sales tax on accessories, and jewelry is my main catch) so hopefully, I'll be able to sell them without being commissioned because I want em in a store!

Anytime! I went into it blind (did chainmailling but scalemail is a little harder to see where everything lays) but I do have a piece in my scraps that shows the inside weave if youre interested to see that further.
