Being a caster has a toll on the armor that you wear. Most of mage classes wear cloth, and have their tomes, books, and spells. But the joys of being an elemental based magic class, is that your armor does need to be durable depending on if your specialties are based in arcane magic, but may need the resilience to withstand magicks when dealing with frost, water, and ice. Don't forget those hothead fire types, utilizing the elements of fire magicks.
Being a mage is a rough deal. Glass cannons, that are the focal point of your brute opponents. This lovely client wanted frost mage bracers, with icicle crystals draping over the hand. This lovely combination was made with a multitude of shades.
Scales are all small sized scales, that are anodized aluminum and stainless steel leaflets. The anodized aluminum is the frosted ice silver, the dark blue and turquoise blues. A mage--reinforced with light mail!? HOW SCARY WOULD THAT BE! +INT and +MANA REGEN are definitely stats that are augmented permanently into this dastardly set.
Stainless is the solid silver colored scales. All connection rings are made of handcrafted and cut steel links that are 3/16" diameter, out of 18 gauge diameter steel.
Crystals on the hands are swavorski, in 3-4 different shades of blue, grey, and clear-white to add shine and sophistication to the elegant icicle styled hands.
The slave bracelet style fingers allow for movement, and allows room if worn for cosplay or long term wear. One of the biggest asked questions is how these stay up, this set is reinforced with 14 gauge steel along each side of the inner arm, and wrapped with 22 gauge steel to keep all links in place. This makes for a tight fit, and can be laced up with paracord and/or ribbon. This shows the paracord lacing. This helps keep the form of the bracer, and makes for long-term wear. They drape over the pinky, middle, and thumb, leaving the ring finger open.
This was a beautiful challenge, and the second arm is underway. This will be a full set to be worn in an elegant fall wedding! A second set will soon come to be, as there is more to the wedding involved.
