Vaporized Dreams

Steam vaporizes.
Haze expunges the walls that surround her,
hot water engulfs her naked figure.
Sweet fragrances of lavish fruits intertwine with the foggy distortion,
aroma's remind her of pheromones his body gave off.

Sweet and distinct,
her nose twinges at the memories that flash with the scents.
She floats to the warmth of being in his arms,
the smell of his hair,
the feel of his soft skin,
being in his arms presented a perfect fit.

She sinks lower in the tub to where her nose is above the water.

Flashbacks play themselves across the foggy void,
his smile, the taste of his kiss,
the tender touch of his fingers in her hair;
her senses were ablaze.

The recollections were sweet,
despite her attitude of loss,
there wasn't a bad memory to be found.

No hatred plagued her mind,
no ill will was even directed at her actions.
She presented herself in a manner she never knew capable of an emotional train wreck.

She was placid,
solace still was able to find its way into what she felt was her life crashing.
Tears streamed silently down her face and hit the water that lay beneath.

Such a heart wrenching scene brought sanity.
Her worst fear was no longer foreboding,
nothing could change the events,
but for once, she was able to find comfort in the loss of something so precious.

He taught her more than she could have dreamed,
she was more stable than she had hoped,
insight presented far too late,
but no matter, lessons were learned.
and he shall be cherished.

The vapors dissipate,
the scents slowly fade into faint nothingness,
the water cools, and she steps out of her memories,
creating a new outlook on how she will live her life.
One simple moment,
changed the rest of her life.
