Description

:bulletblack::bulletblack: This beautiful wire-wrapped wonder is for the beautiful bride :iconfelosoraptor: who was also the one who took all 5 photos, and edited the images. I put them together into a collage to show all angles of this piece.

:bulletblack::bulletblack: This is all handcrafted. She wanted a swirled wire base design to her wedding piece, but wanted it adorned with bauble styled beads (in this case, we ended up picking multiple sizes and shades of ivory pearls) that were intertwined with the piece. After some trial and error, and dabbling with prototype designs, it was decided these pearls be wire wrapped in instead of all drapping, as it was causing a heavy asymmetrical lean in the design.

:bulletblack::bulletblack: In addition, she wanted a steampunk style to her piece. I had these real, industrial gears that I'd acquired from our dad, as he did machining and metalwork, and used the gears he'd given me for her big day. Also wrapped in are smaller, vintage pocketwatch gears and clock hands that are brushed silver.

:bulletblack::bulletblack: The material used for the wire wrap base is made from steel. I fell in love with this design, and her dress is cut straight above the bust, no sleeves, no straps or anything, so this is a large statement piece to accent her dress cut.

:bulletblack::bulletblack: This by far, is the most in depth project I've had for a bridal design, and I am not as affluent in wirewrapping as I am chainmail, so I am extremely pleased with the outcome, and that I was able to construct something completely from scratch. I do need to get better in the ways of wrapping, but this was a project that tested my skills, patience, eye, and design skills, and feel that I was able to bring some new techniques out.

i absolutely love this however i am biased because its for my wedding! i love how you went above and beyond expectation, despite how much you hate wire wrapping. it strayed away from our original concept but this outcome is better than could have been expected!

things i love: the swirls create a good amount of negative space and shapes itself with the clock gears, pearls, and gears…even though i did feel like the sides felt a bit weighted…it works with the large and in charge feel of this. it looks more cluttered and elegant, just how like most mechanical things are.

also i must say the photo quality is great…as i mentioned previously i would prefer if the full shoulder shot was at the top because of the shadows the neck gets lost with the hard light being at the bottom, but i know how much of an issue it was for you to make this…so if it doesn't work on moving it…thats fine…the jewelry is all that matters for this!

its so unique and original and it is just lovely to look at!
